Noren — the threshold you cross into KURO

Modern Kaiseki,
Timeless Craft.

An intimate counter, seasonal ingredients flown in daily from Tsukiji, and a tasting menu that changes with the moon. Fine Japanese dining, reimagined.

Monogatari — our story

A quiet room, built around the knife.

KURO began as a six-seat counter in Kyoto, where our founder, Chef Hiroshi Tanaka, trained for eleven years under a kaiseki master before opening doors of his own. Every dish still follows the same principle: let the ingredient speak, and get out of its way.

Today the dining room seats twenty-two. The philosophy hasn't moved an inch — seasonal, precise, and served without ceremony that isn't earned.

The Nine-Course
Omakase Journey

Reserved for the counter only, twelve seats a night. Chef Tanaka builds each course table-side, tuned to what arrived at the dock that morning — no two nights are the same.
